Sanctum: Churches of Italy
I’m in awe of the churches and cathedrals in Italy. It amazes me how much time, effort and money is spent to maintain them, and how it’s a never ending process of regeneration. I’m drawn to these spaces like an artist is drawn to a studio. They are usually quiet, majestic places filled with sculpture, paintings, and other religious iconography. I rarely pass up a chance to enter a church, sometimes out of curiosity, and sometimes just to soften the noise of the outside world, but mostly to make photographs.
